Here are a few pictures too cute to keep from Holden’s fan club.
Holden received his first Synagis vaccine (for the season) today. It’s designed to help build his immune system in case he gets RSV. RSV can be deadly for heart healthy babies, but especially for heart heroes like Holden. So we’re thankful that it exists. Last year both kids had RSV, and Corbyn, who isn’t eligible for the vaccine, actually had a much harder time than her medically fragile brother. That said, we have to be extra careful about avoiding respiratory illnesses, which can be kind of bummer for the kids (and Mommy)— i.e.: no play places, and for Holden, no church nursery. It means washing our hands A LOT, and changing our clothes after being out.
Holden’s doing so well. His scar is healing up nicely, and he’s gained a pound! His speech and eating is improving all the time. Yesterday was his first real snow and he kept looking out the window and saying, “Bubbles! Bubbles!”
