This boy loves to swing!
Okay, so UPDATE on Holden’s medical affairs. Last week the cardiologist, who did his cath, called me. Of course we were on a walk, so I’m just standing on a street corner while Corbyn throws rocks down a storm drain, and I’m making decisions about my son’s future– gotta love cell phones.
So, he called because he really wants to get Holden in for a CT scan so that they can make a model of Holden’s heart using a 3D printer! If we do this (which we plan to) it will be the first one done in West Virginia. The surgeon feels like it will really help in having a better idea on how to approach the surgery. The only downside is that they’ll have to put him under. I never look forward to that because there’s risks involved.
We’ll keep everyone updated once we know when it’s going to happen. We’re also still in limbo about the surgery date. It makes me anxious to not know. Mostly for selfish reasons, but I think about plans for the summer, Corbyn’s dance recital this spring, swimming, etc. Every thought is a “that would be fun… but, what if it’s when he has his surgery.”
So I guess you could pray for us with that. I’d really like to have a date. Even though having a date brings anxiety as well. It’s like giving birth for the 2nd time, you know how painful it’s going to be, and “here’s the date when that’s going to happen, so, have fun!”
